The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have unveiled new details about Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the highly anticipated open-world adventure set in Lumiose City. A new trailer showcases the game’s unique battle system, dynamic day-night mechanics and the high-stakes Z-A Royale.

Lumiose City is undergoing a massive redevelopment to better integrate humans and Pokémon, bringing dramatic shifts between daytime exploration and nighttime battles. By day, trainers can explore wild zones, capture Pokémon and train their teams. But when night falls, the city transforms – holographic battle zones emerge and trainers compete in the Z-A Royale, starting at Rank Z and battling their way to Rank A.

The trailer also introduces two rival trainers, Urbain and Taunie, who will challenge players as they progress through the Z-A Royale, offering fierce competition and adding extra excitement to the adventure.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A launches in late 2025 for the Nintendo Switch. For the latest updates, visit Pokémon Legends‘ official website and check out the trailer above.
