Carl Friedrik, the London-based luxury travel brand, has launched a new collection of soft leather bags just in time for Spring.

Sonder comprises three styles the brand says were “designed for sartorialists on the move”, including the Ayrton Backpack, Dunloe Briefcase and Granville Weekender, which the brand describes as part of an “initial launch”, perhaps alluding to more to come down the line.

Carefully designed with Carl Friedrik’s signature minimalism, the new bags offer ample storage for a range of travel scenarios: the Ayrton Backpack, a “suave everyday” option, features a simple two pocket solution and fits a 16-inch laptop in its integrated sleeve; the Dunloe Briefcase, made with supple full-grain leather, includes multiple magnetic pockets and an internal zippered pocket, as well as having its own 16-inch laptop section; while the Granville Weekender, the largest of the three, features a generous 33-liters of space that can easilt fit a long weekend’s worth of stuff. All three bags features a built-in “Integrated Smart Holder”, allowing them to be attached to the handle of most cabin luggage.

The Sonder collection was constructed using the same premium materials Carl Friedrik fans have come to love, with the brand opting for soft yet durable full-grain textured leather for the main body of the bags and vachetta leather for the details.

Mattis Oppermann, the brand’s co-founder, describes its new Sonder collection as sitting “at the intersection between contemporary and classic, marrying traditional design cues with practical innovations for the modern urbanite, whose day might well include travel for work, gym and evening leisure activities.”

Carl Friedrik’s Sonder collection is available now online with pricing starting at £565 GBP / $725 USD.
