Update: It’s nearly time for Nike to drop the latest version of its Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game.” The sneaker has been added to the Nike SNKRS app with a complete set of imagery made available for review. As expected and described previously below, it combines red at its lower half with black across the upper, recreating the 1997 look. Listed at an adjusted price of $210 USD, it will drop via Nike SNKRS and select retailers on March 1.

Update: We finally got a first look at this year’s Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” release at the start of the year, confirming that it will stay true to its 1997 form. As we await its official announcement, another preview of the pair has been shared, highlighting its premium build and branding elements. Release remains anticipated for March 1 at a price of $200 USD via Nike SNKRS and select retailers worldwide.

Update: Reports last year went back and forth on whether or not the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” would be returning in 2025. However, a first look at the re-release has finally surfaced, confirming that it will be dropping again this year. The few shots shared indicate that nothing about the sneaker has changed — a red mudguard and sole is joined by black at the leather upper. Release is now expected to take place on March 1 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD.

Update: Rumor mania rages on as yet another amended report has been shared by Sneaker Files. The Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” was first said to be returning in 2025 back in April, though was later rumored to be cancelled and replaced by the “Bloodline” colorway in May. Now, the latest update from the world of sneaker leaks is that the “Bloodline” pair will not be releasing after all, instead, the “Flu Game” colorway will indeed be making its return. Stay tuned for additional updates as it would seem that anything can happen at this point.

Update: Last month, a rumor surrounding the return of the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” in 2025 circulated. Given the eight years that have elapsed since its first appearance, the timing added up. However, zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files have confirmed that it will not be re-releasing next year after all. Instead, a new “Bloodline” colorway (depicted via mock-up in the Instagram post embedded below) will be arriving in black and red as a follow-up to 2019’s Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Bloodline.” Stay tuned for a first look at the new pair.

Original Story: We’re not even a third of the way through 2024, but Jordan Brand‘s 2025 lineup has already started to leak en masse: after it was revealed that the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic” was primed for a 2025 return, it’s now being rumored that the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” will make a comeback of its own. A black-and-red iteration of Michael Jordan‘s 12th signature sneaker that got its nickname from a flu-addled MJ’s legendary 38-point performance against the Utah Jazz in the 1997 NBA Finals, the “Flu Game” originally released that same year and was last retroed in 2016.

Thanks to its Chicago Bulls-esque black and red color scheme and its rich history, the “Flu Game” is one of the most iconic Air Jordan releases ever. During its last retro release, it garnered $20 million USD in sales in a single day (and, hilariously, was spotlighted in a special campaign with comedian JB Smoove). That 2016 retro is pictured above, as no images of the purported 2025 model have been revealed, but a joint report from Sneaker Files and zsneakerheadz indicates it’ll touch down sometime next spring.
