BORN X RAISED x NEIGHBORHOOD Bridges California and Harajuku
Take a first look at the imminent cross-continental collab.
On the heels of its “City Above Self” BORN X RAISED has lifted the veil on another in-line release of the month. Bridging the streetwear cultures that are seas apart, the label’s newest collaboration with Shinsuke Takizawa‘s NEIGHBORHOOD crafts a cohesive envisioning connecting the Southern California fashion scene with the street style happenings of Harajuku.
The collaboration’s staple piece takes the shape of a souvenir jacket; the duo melds vintage influence with contemporary streetwear style codes, all the while infusing the garment with Japanese cultural cues. Dipped in an all-black colorway, the jacket comes stamped with an embroidered bird motif – a revered symbol of both beauty and protection in Japanese culture – on the backside, surrounded by sophisticated BORN X RAISED and NEIGHBORHOOD lettering.
Elsewhere, a black-hued zip-up sweat set also taps into the traits of the bird in its design, while, in true BORN X RAISED form, a co-branded snapback closes it all out.
