New Balance debuted in the 990v6 as its latest entry in the fabled 990 series back in 2022. Leading up to this eventual release, New Balance MADE in USA leader Teddy Santis was the first person to tease the silhouette back in 2021 and has played a key role in many of its releases since. Following the reveals of a “Triple Black” pair and a separate brown and gray look for Santis’ line earlier this week, the 990v6 MADE in USA lineup is expanding with a gray and black finish.

In our brief initial preview of the new colorway, the pair begins with a white textile base that matches the “N” logos, laces, tongue and a majority of the midsole. From there, black enters the mix by outlining the “N” logos, appearing at the tongue branding and via the overlays while gray enters the mix at the suede mudguard and eyestays. Supporting the sneaker, its sizable sole unit pairs the aforementioned white segment with an off-white around the heel as a black rubber outsole backs it.

At the time of writing, New Balance has not announced its fifth season of Teddy Santis’ MADE in USA line. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently expected to launch with this gray pair of the 990v6 MADE in USA on February 8 via New Balance and select retailers.
