Versace Has Wiped Its Instagram Clean
Following Tapestry Inc.’s acquisition of Versace’s parent company Capri Holdings.

Versace is ready for a fresh start. At the time of writing, the Italian luxury brand has wiped its official Instagram clean, sparking speculation by fans online that the fashion house is heading in a new direction. Similarly, in 2021, Bottega Veneta left Instagram altogether while Balenciaga wiped all of its social media channels, as did Burberry most recently to unveil the Daniel Lee vision. In fashion, a complete wipe on social media channels often means that the brand is on its way to a new outlook.
The blank Instagram page comes after Tapestry Inc. announced it is acquiring Versace’s parent company Capri Holdings. Versace told WWD earlier this week that the move is “actually aimed at unveiling a new approach to posting.” Fans can look out for the new social media strategy beginning on Thursday. In a statement from the company, the brand shared, “Versace will relaunch [its] Instagram channel later this week with the fall 2023 campaign in a magazine style format timed with the new season’s collection delivery in-store and online.” The statement continued, “We are always looking at improving the different ways we talk to our community and bring them closer to our world. This refreshed approach across our digital channels allows us to continue our editorial storytelling and brings our global audience the very best of the Versace content in the best format for them.”
Any additional information regarding the strategy has yet to be released however, in recent weeks, the brand has released a series of select black and white campaign images featuring the models like Gigi Hadid, Anok Ya, Angelina Kendall and Karolina Spakowski, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. This is the first time Versace has wiped it social account. Stay tuned to the brand’s Instagram for new updates.
