The Second Season of ‘Diablo IV’ Will Be Released in October
Featuring unlockable vampiric powers and new community-requested updates.
At the 2023 Gamescom Opening Night Live, a cinematic trailer for season two of Diablo IV was unveiled. Entitled, Season of Blood, the upcoming installment of the game will feature vampires as the main antagonists, a new questline as well as vampiric powers for players to uncover.
In the new season, players will be guided by Erys, a seasoned vampire hunter whom you will battle alongside with. Erys is voiced by actress and producer Gemma Chan, who described the character as a “badass warrior companion” at the Opening Night Live.
A handful of community-requested updates will also be implemented in Season of Blood, such as more efficient inventory management for Gems, and functional changes to status effects. Gems will also no longer take up space in the inventory, and Stash will offer a more user-friendly search and a filter function.
In addition, five new and returning endgame bosses will be included, offering players more farming opportunities of Unique and Uber Uniques. More information can be read at Blizzard’s official website.
Diablo IV: Season of Blood will be officially released on October 17, 2023. In the meantime, watch the new trailer above.
