In the recent The Hot Mic podcast with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha, the duo have reported that Vanessa Kirby has reportedly been cast as Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman for Marvel‘s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. Kirby recently starred in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One alongside Tom Cruise.

The studio has not yet confirmed or denied the news, however this is the most recent update since casting reports have indicated that Margot Robbie has declined the same role. Earlier this year, it was said that Adam Driver is reportedly in final talks to join the MCU, particularly the upcoming Fantastic Four film. The reboot is looking to feature a stacked cast and still has fans speculating who they will see play the titular characters.

The new Fantastic Four film was initially announced by Marvel Studios in December 2020 with Jon Watts set to direct. In the podcast, Sneider alluded to the fact that the star has all but confirmed to be Invisible Woman. In a previous interview with Variety Kirby mentioned that it would be an honor for her to play the character, though nothing has been confirmed — “It’d be an honor to play Sue Storm. She’s amazing.” With the SAG-AFTRA strike, it is uncertain when production will move forward.

Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.

In case you missed it, Disney revealed Loki Season 2 cost $141.3 million USD.
