'Pokémon' Reveals New 'The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero' DLC Trailer for 'Pokémon Scarlet' and 'Violet'
Featuring five new Pokémon, an initial release date and more.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet burst onto the scene in November of last year, ultimately scoring the record for Nintendo‘s fastest-selling game ever. However, there’s more to the story to be told. In February, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC was announced in two parts — Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk.
A second trailer for the DLC component of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been shared — revealing new Pokémon, an initial release date and more. Looking first at The Teal Mask, the land of Kitakami is showcased with new trainers joining in on the fun. Alongside new Pokémon, various familiar Pokémon not found in the Paldea region are being added to the games. Following this, The Indigo Disk takes place at the Blueberry Academy, a newly-built school mostly located underwater, and similarly introduces new and existing Pokémon to the titles..
On top of all the exciting action, five new Pokémon have been revealed. First, Raging Bolt is a giraffe-like Paradox version of the legendary Pokémon Raikou while Iron Crown serves as a Paradox version of the legendary Pokémon Cobalion. Two new evolution stages were also showcased. First, Applin will now be able to evolve into a new candy apple-themed Pokémon — Dipplin. Another Generation VIII Pokémon that will evolve is Duraludon, turning into a steel-bridge-inspired beast named Archaludon. Lastly, the normal form of Terapagos has been spotlighted, revealing that the previously-unveiled look is its Terastal form.
Fans can look forward to expanding their Pokémon Scarlet and Violet experiences this fall with the introduction of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC starting with Part 1: The Teal Mask releasing on September 13. Following this, Part 2: The Indigo Disk has been announced for the winter. Pre-orders for the DLC pack are available now via Nintendo at a price of $35 USD. Either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet is needed to access the DLC, available only on the Nintendo Switch. In addition to this, a special Mew can be obtained in-game now ahead of an upcoming Mewtwo raid event, details below.
