Honda and Pokémon Unveil Functional "Koraidon Project" Motorcycle
Set to make its public debut at the Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo from March 7-9.
Honda is turning fantasy into reality with its latest collaboration with Pokémon. Under the supervision of The Pokémon Company, the Japanese automaker has launched the “Honda Koraidon Project,” bringing the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon into the real world as a rideable mobility concept.
The initiative follows the Toyota Miraidon Project, which saw Toyota engineers create a life-sized version of Miraidon, the Pokémon Violet counterpart to Koraidon. Inspired by this, Honda assembled a team of approximately 40 engineers from its Motorcycle and Power Products divisions and Innovative Research Excellence to develop a Koraidon that embodies Honda’s expertise in motorcycle engineering and self-balancing technology.
Designed to mirror Koraidon’s iconic muscular build, Honda’s version incorporates elements from the riding system featured in Pokémon Scarlet — where Koraidon can travel across land, sea, and air. While specific functions have yet to be revealed, Honda has hinted at incorporating advanced balance control systems to make the rideable Pokémon as immersive as possible.
The Honda Koraidon will debut at Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo from March 7-9, 2025, where visitors will get a first look at this ambitious fusion of pop culture and engineering.
