Joshua Vides to Launch 'Check Engine Light' Capsule
In celebration of his recent automotive-inspired solo exhibition.
Joshua Vides is set to release an automotive-inspired capsule collection following the success of his recent solo exhibition Check Engine Light. The show, which was open for five days in LA for Frieze Art Week, showcased three cars from brands like Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Honda — all finished in Vides signature illustrative style.
This same 2D pen and paper-style artwork has made its way onto a range of collectible items and garments. Standout clothing items include a black Mercedes-Benz hoodie and a black long-sleeve tee for both Porsche and Honda. Some notable collectibles include a skate deck, available in a natural wood color or the artist’s signature black and white style. Additional goods include a ceramic ashtray in the shape of a 911, various logo keychains and a range of caps.
Items from the collection will be available to shop via the artist’s official site starting at 9:00 am PST, with details on pricing not shared at the time of writing. Vides did note, however, that the first 50 orders will receive “something special.”
