New reports are claiming that Adam Driver is currently finalizing a deal to star in a role in the MCU. Specifically, Driver is expected to star in Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. Initial reports were made late last year when Driver was rumored to play either Mr. Fantastic or Doctor Doom.

Reputable industry insider Daniel Richtman reported that Driver is in final talks with Marvel Studios to play Reed Richards. For months, his name has been floating around to join the MCU. In January, Driver was said to be the “top casting choice” to play Reed Richards in the reboot. While the reboot is still years away, early development has already indicated that fans can expect the film to be on schedule.

After multiple delays, the reboot is finally going to start filming in early 2024. WandaVision‘s director Matt Shakman is expected to helm the project while Avatar: The Way of Water Josh Friedman is expected to pen the script. No other stars have been confirmed however, rumors indicated that Austin Butler cold be tapped to play Johnny Storm, while other rumors say that Rachel Brosnahan or Jodie Comer could play Sue Storm.

The Fantastic Four reboot is expected to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.

In case you missed it, Netflix has reportedly added 1.75 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2023.
