'Switch' Magazine to Launch the COMME des GARÇONS 50th Anniversary Special Edition Issue
Featuring a white cover version and a limited-edition black cover.
In celebrating the 50th anniversary of COMME des GARÇONS, Japanese magazine SWITCH will be dedicating a special issue to commemorate the label’s story that spanned half a century thus far.
The magazine will include all past features of the brand by SWITCH, which includes a rare reprint of the COMME des GARÇON furniture catalog from 1990, the 2015 deep-cut interview with Rei Kawakubo that spanned 15,000 words long, and much more.
Instead of chronicling the label’s success through a retrospective lens, the special issue serves as a visual discussion of what the next 50 years of the brand will look like through its 416 pages.
SWITCH’s special edition COMME des GARÇONS 50th Anniversary Issue will be offered in two versions: a regular version featuring a white cover, and a limited-edition black cover. Releasing on April 25, the white edition will retail for ¥4,400 JPY, meanwhile, the black edition is priced at ¥11,000 JPY.
