The Air Force 1, possibly Nike‘s most popular and universal sneaker just got a utilitarian style update to a “Triple-Black” waterproof low.

Black AF1s have come to represent a lot of things over the years, from memes to identifying someone that’s particularly a wild card — otherwise expressed as “black air force energy.” Indisputably, however, both the white and black AF1 low has become a staple of sneaker culture and most collectors own a pair or two of each.

The draw to the AF1 Low is undoubtedly its simplicity, offering a silhouette that can be extremely versatile and go with just about any fit the wearer throws together.

In this latest update, the AF1 Low WP gets the “Triple-Black” treatment, offering a utility-based sneaker that can be worn in just about any weather. The waterproofing system also appears to have undergone some improvements, with the shoe featuring a reduction in seams to provide better protection.

While details are scarce on the all-black textured leather shoe, as one would expect, the pair does feature a tongue constructed with nylon ripstop, providing comfort and durability, as well as a place to display the “Waterproof” branding.

The sleek silhouette, sitting on black rubber soles, is set to release sometime over the next few months and is expected to retail for a price of $150 USD at select Nike retailers and on Nike’s official site.
