Between Friends, the indie pop sister-brother duo of Savannah and Brandon Hudson will be releasing their long-awaited debut album. Since bursting onto the scene in 2018 with their first EP, we just need some time together, the band has cemented a cult following for their unique, DIY-style sound.

Due this August, the musical project’s forthcoming LP is called I Love My Girl, She’s My Boy. Between Friends dropped a series of singles leading up to the announcement, including “Bruise,” “What’s up” and “Redlight” featuring alternative rapper Teezo Touchdown.

“Each song is a different process, and there’s never an exact formula. That’s why it’s always exciting for us to make music,” Savannah told Hypebeast about the album in an interview last month. “Most of our musical creation springs from a discussion between us, or one of us coming into the studio with a feeling that then inspires us to write. If you start to get too calculated in your way of working, it becomes very redundant and stagnant.”

“Not overthinking things was something else that we learned while making this album,” Brandon added. “The music that was over thought just… wasn’t cool.”

In tandem with the announcement of the album, Between Friends have teased that they’ll be putting out a new single called “Haircut” with Bakar on July 28.

Between Friends’ debut album I Love My Girl, She’s My Boy is out on August 25.
