Just passing the midpoint of the month, July is poised to be a memorable one, especially in regard to footwear releases and news. Following up on an action-packed week, we’re back with a diverse roster of footwear brands from Nike to adidas that are dropping heat with contributions from ASICS, Vault by Vans, the Crocs team and Under Armour. However, before we break down everything you need to know release-wise this week, let’s recap the past seven days of sneaker-related headlines.

On the feature side of things, our latest weekly Sole Mates installment spotlights designer Alexander-John and his “Mixtape Evolution Pack” with Roc Nation and PUMA. In addition to this, the team linked up with NFL All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs to discuss his new partnership with ASICS.

Pivoting to the week’s news, Corteiz announced that it cancelled thousands of automated orders for its Nike Air Max 95 collaboration and proceeded to release them for £110 GBP (approx. $144 USD). The Swoosh also turned heads with a preview of Devin Booker’s first signature shoe — the Nike BOOK 1. Adding to the chaos, early pairs of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch,” CLOT x Nike Dunk Low “What The” and TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk Low all surfaced, revealing each pair’s details. On the Jordan Brand side of things, Travis Scott lit up the news with release details surrounding his Air Jordan 1 Low Golf and Cut the Check signature sneaker.

Elsewhere in the industry, adidas finally revealed its meme-inspired The Simpsons x Stan Smith “Homer” collaboration while a leak of a white-colored YEEZY QNTM surfaced as well. Wrapping things up, New Balance made noise with its Warped Runner, a ripstop-backed 2002R “Protection Pack” and a teaser for a collaboration on the FuelCell C_1 with Stone Island.

With last week’s headlines out of the way, let’s peek into the future with what footwear drops are poised to excite sneakerheads over the next seven days. Afterwards, be sure to visit HBX to shop styles that are currently available.

adidas Crazy Infinity “Chalk”

Release Date: July 19
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: Packer
Why You Should Cop: At the tail end of last year, adidas Basketball revealed that it had something brewing. Shortly after, its showcase at NBA All-Star Weekend 2023 was a statement moment in catapulting the division back into the conversation. Hot off of the success of its Harden Vol. 7 and “Remember The Why” campaign, the Three Stripes is finally introducing one of its most-anticipated new silhouettes — the Crazy Infinity. Debuting in a versatile “Chalk” colorway, off-white and black combine for a crisp level of contrast while the futuristic-yet-retro build breathes new life into the brand’s offerings. As a Packer-exclusive, this pair is sure to drum up excitement for what’s to come for the Crazy Infinity.

Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GT-2160

Release Date: July 19
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: ASICS
Why You Should Cop: Making a follow-up appearance in the best footwear drops series, Cecilie Bahnsen’s ASICS GT-2160 flew off her shelves and are being prepared for yet another release. The elegant design sees Bahnsen’s signature grace adorn the kicks in monochromatic silver and black colorways. For those who enjoy blurring the lines between the runway and the streets, this is the pair for you.

JJJJound x Vault by Vans Hospitality Capsule

Release Date: July 20
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: JJJJound
Why You Should Cop: JJJJound is back at it again, this time with the white (Vault by) Vans. Tapping into a hospitality theme, the Montreal-based design studio has assembled three plain colorways across the Sk8-Mid VLT LX, Authentic VLT LX and Classic Slip-On VLT LX. Each pair integrates subtle co-branding while the duo ever-so-slightly twists each sneaker with a premium construction. Per usual from JJJJound, the kicks aren’t eye-catchers, however, there’s beauty in its simplicity and versatility.

Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide “Tashmoo” & Clog “Niagara”

Release Date: July 20
Release Price: $70 USD and $85 USD
Where to Buy: Be A Spunge
Why You Should Cop: While not officially connected other than existing within the same line, the upcoming releases for the Crocs Pollex Slide and Clog both arrive this week and offer similar experiences. First, the Pollex Slide in “Tashmoo” continues the new silhouette’s rollout with a beach day-ready blue that carries minimal branding that is located at the footbed. As for the Pollex Clog in “Niagara,” its precise color is tricky to discern based on the teaser imagery. However, it’s likely a washed blue hue that spans the entirety of the upper, offset by the slightly-adjusted color at the hallux.

GOLF le FLEUR* x Converse Chuck 70 Low “Digital Leopard” Pack

Release Date: July 20
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: Converse
Why You Should Cop: Few figures in the mainstream can compare to Tyler, the Creator when it comes to boasting an instantly-recognizable style. As a result, his shoe collaborations via GOLF le FLEUR* have always stood out and, despite taking on such a wide variety of looks, there’s a sense of cohesion that binds them all together. For his latest release with Converse, he’s flipped a leopard print — a pattern many connect with the artist — by creating a digital version of it that leans on rougher shapes. The unique finish dresses four pairs of Chuck 70 Lows, outfitting the canvas upper while off-white chimes in at the signature toe and sole unit.

Under Armour Curry Back 2 Back MVP Pack

Release Date: July 21
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Under Armour
Why You Should Cop: Steph Curry’s athleticism continues to amaze the world, coming off an incredible victory at the American Century Golf Tournament, Curry’s Underrated documentary is set to drop alongside the return of his Under Armour Curry Back 2 Back MVP Pack. Celebrating another of his countless accomplishments, the pack features both the Curry 1 and 2 with a crisp gold adorning each black and white look.

Nike ACG Mountain Fly 2 Low “Light Iron Ore”

Release Date: July 21
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Appearing at the beginning of 2023, the ACG Mountain Fly 2 Low is a natural step forward for the always-evolving subdivision of the Swoosh. Its rugged-yet-slick build combines elements of durability with modern style cues, resulting in a pair that can be worn on and off the trails. In “Light Iron Ore,” this approach is strengthened thanks to its calm stone gray presentation. Per usual, utility-focused elements such as the semi-gusseted tongue and lace toggle increase its practicality.

Sanrio x Converse All Star

Release Date: July 21
Release Price: approx. $95 USD to $111 USD
Where to Buy: atmos Tokyo
Why You Should Cop: A Japanese staple and a franchise adored by fans around the world, Sanrio is the embodiment of cute. From Hello Kitty to Cinnamoroll and My Melody, each character exudes a lovable energy that has captivated audiences for decades. Throughout this time, various footwear brands have leaned on this to create adorable sneakers, with Converse stepping back into the Sanrio universe for four All Star colorways. The three aforementioned characters all enliven the All Star Hi with character graphics at the lateral and additional references integrated into the medial badge. As for the lone All Star Ox look, Hello Kitty’s bow rests at the lateral midfoot with a furry white texture spread throughout the upper.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “UNC Toe”

Release Date: July 22
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Forever a staple, the Air Jordan 1 is a part of sneaker history that continues to be celebrated. While appearances in its original high-top form are limited, a wide variety of low and mid-top variants have succeeded in keeping the design on shelves. However, this week sees the high-top version enter the mix with a fresh “UNC Toe” design that plays off both the Tar Heel-inspired “UNC” and classic colored toe series. Beyond serving as a fitting drop for any University of North Carolina alumnus, the pair is an apt tribute to Michael Jordan’s legacy.

Dime x ASICS GT-2160

Release Date: July 22
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: ASICS
Why You Should Cop: As ASICS continues its ascent in the sneaker industry, its list of collaborators is growing alongside it. Teaming up with Montreal-based label Dime, ASICS has offered up its GT-2160 to the brand, resulting in an off-white and gray blend across its mixed material build. Various co-branding elements are scattered throughout the sneaker, serving as a cue to any onlookers that this isn’t just a general release pair.
