TRENDYGOLF and RLX Golf Launch a British Open Capsule Collection
Because it’s always sweater season somewhere.

The British Open, known formally as the Open Championship, is the oldest competition in golf. 162 years old to be exact. It also regularly delivers some of the best golf fits of the season. Why? For one, it’s almost always sweater weather, which allows unlimited layering possibilities. And with those lower temperatures, players tend to be a little less tied to performance textiles, which adds another element to outfit building when you introduce natural fibers. The third reason is that it’s a massive occasion. The Open is now the fourth and final major championship in the men’s golf season, and every brand is looking to show off their latest and greatest goods.
One of those brands is RLX Golf, who are teaming up with golf retailers TRENDYGOLF for a collection that delivers many of the aforementioned elements with inspiration from Ralph Lauren heritage items. Think tailored pants, knit polos, cotton cardigans and button-down shirts in classic menswear patterns that hail from the British Isles like plaid, herringbone and argyle. Driving home the vintage feel, a throwback Ralph Lauren golf logo, which exhibits a tartan shield with crossed golf clubs, shows up on a selection of pieces.
There are offerings for women as well, which mainly center around a paisley pattern that originated in Persia, and later gained popularity in the 1960s due to The Beatles and hippie culture. It’s a fitting reference given The Open is being held in Liverpool this year, one of the “grooviest” places to be in the 60s and the birthplace of the iconic boy band. And not to be glossed over, professional golfer Billy Horschel will wear a selection of items from the collection as he competes in the tournament starting on Thursday.
