Warby Parker is thrilled to announce the re-release of two limited-edition sunglasses, Atwater and Edgemont, just in time for the peak sun season. These sunglasses are part of their ongoing collaboration with artist Geoff McFetridge, who has been a longtime friend of the brand. In this new release, the popular frames have been updated with fresh colors and lens options. The Atwater is now available in Beech Nut and Rosemary Crystal, while the Edgemont comes in Mesa Tortoise and Jet Black.

The Edgemont sunglasses, named after Geoff’s hometown in Canada, feature a round frame with a keyhole bridge, double-rivet detailing, and a thick acetate construction. On the other hand, the Atwater sunglasses, named after Geoff’s Los Angeles studio neighborhood, are rectangular and draw inspiration from vintage military aesthetics. They also showcase double-rivet detailing and sculpted acetate construction.

Geoff McFetridge expresses his perspective on collaborating with brands, stating, “Since I started my studio, I have considered working with brands as a part of my art practice. The only way this has been possible is for brands to want to make things that are personal and often about quiet details. I have the slightly magical thinking that we can imprint objects with ideas, which is why the frames are named for the suburb I grew up in (Edgemont) and the Los Angeles neighborhood where my studio is (Atwater). I have worked with Warby since 2013, and there has always been room in what we do together for this type of thinking. No matter how much they have grown, they are interested in making things a bit more human, a bit more creatively-complicated.”

Warby Parker co-founder and co-CEO Neil Blumenthal reflects on their longstanding partnership with Geoff: “Our partnership with Geoff dates back over a decade, when he created artwork for our first West Coast location in Los Angeles. We’ve long been inspired by Geoff’s playful perspective and singular vision, which shine through in all his work, and we’re excited to team up with him again on this latest iteration of our initial collection. We worked hand in hand to design the original frames—which sold out quite fast—and we collaborated with Geoff again on this new round of colorways. When you see these sunglasses, you know they’re unequivocally Geoff McFetridge.”

Both the Atwater and Edgemont styles are available for purchase on Warby Parker’s website. Additionally, there is an exclusive Geoff McFetridge x Warby Parker vending machine located at Virgil Normal in LA. Customers can find a curated selection of Geoff’s favorite items in the vending machine, such as a custom sunglass leash made specifically for the collaboration, Coffee Crisp chocolate bars, custom bike grips, and his recommended beach read (“Sharks, Deaths, Surfers”). Furthermore, Warby Parker is making a donation to LA Más, a community organization focused on empowering working class communities of color and promoting neighborhood stability and economic resilience in Northeast Los Angeles. All proceeds from vending machine purchases will also go toward supporting LA Más.

As always, for every pair of sunglasses purchased, Warby Parker will distribute a pair of glasses to someone in need. The price for each pair is $95 USD. Elsewhere, Hypermaremma and Terraforma have joined forces for a remarkable and exclusive event located at a historic 19th-century villa in Capalbio, Italy.
