Akin to the Air Jordan 1, the Nike Air Max 1’s journey as a pioneer has garnered it much appreciation. For 2023, an emphasis has been placed on its history as “Big Bubble” pairs have surfaced in its OG ‘86 form alongside various takes on the ‘87 look as well. Now, adding to a list that includes the original “Sport Red,” a “Light Silver” and “Indigo Haze,” a brown “Metallic Gold Grain” has been officially revealed.

Early looks at this pair indicated that it was a numbered release of 1986 pairs, however, this detail is seemingly absent in this preview of the shoe. Its presentation begins with a white mesh base that matches the midsole and is joined by various browns across its overlays. First, the mudguard spotlights a dark brown suede that matches the Swooshes affixed on each side. A light beige also appears, coating the additional paneling, laces, tongue branding and lining. Rounding things out, the enlarged Air unit window is joined by a dark brown rubber outsole.

As of now, no release details regarding the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 “Metallic Gold Grain” have been disclosed. Stay tuned for a launch date as we expect this pair to land on shelves via Nike and select retailers later this year at a price of $150 USD.
