UK designer Jean-Luc Ambridge is among the brightest names in emerging British fashion. The designer explores the limits of movement through technical attire that simultaneously takes the shape of multiple garments.

Ambridge’s brand, _J.L-A.L_ presented its Fall/Winter 2022 collection late last year and looks to inspect new areas of menswear for Spring/Summer 2023. The display leans toward formalwear — which is unusual for the designer — creating swirling blazers, dismantled raincoats, and diverse tops that utilize dissimilar fabrics and zippered compartments with a life of their own.

Now, _J.L-A.L_ is taking over Dover Street Market‘s Ginza location with an all-new exhibition space that presents the offering through a symbolic viewpoint. The installation investigates the label’s SS23 collection through probabilistic metal clouds that reflect the transformational designs. The open space is enchanted by floating pebbles and stones strung up high, creating an otherworldly balance between motion and futurism.
