Nike AM1 G "Play to Live" Might Be the Grooviest Shoe to Hit the Fairway

Is this Nike’s tribute to The Open Championship?

When its comes to its fairway ready offerings Nike has really been flexing its creative muscles over the last few months, especially with the Air Max series. The brand has already revealed its limited edition designs for the Masters, PGA Championship and US Open, and it stands to reason that this latest colorway to surface could be Nike’s ode to The Open Championship, which is being held in Liverpool, England this time around.

To many people Liverpool is known as the birthplace of The Beatles, and the city’s music scene throughout the 60s was blossoming thanks to them as well as iconic venues like the Cavern Club. The Air Max 1 G “Play to Live” features a vibrant and groovy pattern along its full length mudguard, coming through in shades of green, blue, orange and pink. While the toe box is treated with a clean white mesh, creamy suede hits the shoes’ various overlays. The lateral Swooshes see the phrase “Play to Live” and “Live to Play” debossed in a retro 60s font, which is also repeated on the heel overlays. Rounding out the highlights are psychedelic patterned insoles and semi translucent outsoles where the kicks’ monicker is once again repeated.

While no release date has surfaced yet, keep an eye on Hypegolf’s Instagram for updates.
