Meet the Protagonists of the New 'Pokémon' Series
The animated show’s latest trailer spotlights Liko, Roy, Friede and their accompanying Pokémon.
After an incredible run — finally achieving his dream of becoming World Champion — Ash Ketchum is set to bow out from the Pokémon anime later this month. As a result, Pokémon is gearing up for the next chapter of the main Pokémon series. Revealed previously, alongside a look at Friede and Captain Pikachu, a full trailer introducing the new characters has arrived.
First, Liko — the girl with the awe-inspiring pendant — takes the stage, followed by her partner protagonist Roy — the boy with the mysterious Poké Ball — who is determined to challenge the Pokémon from the legends. In addition, Friede is said to be a Pokémon Professor. Joining them, Sprigatito looks to be one of Liko’s Pokémon while Friede rides a Charizard in one scene and a Ceruledge ominously poses towards the end.
Get ready to step into a new era of Pokémon as Liko and Roy hop into action starting on April 14 in Japan with an hourlong special.
