The Serena Williams Design Crew Outfits Nike's Air Max 90 Futura
Expanding on the shoe’s mixed material design.
Last year, Nike continued its expansion of the Air Max line with several refreshed versions of classic Air Maxes. Included in this list is the reworked Air Max 90 Futura. Updating the Air Max 90 with a modern build, the shoe features a diverse mix of materials with a sleeker shape and greater functionality. Now — following the reveal of a collaborative Air More Uptempo — the Serena Williams Design Crew has stepped in to customize the Air Max 90 Futura.
Upgrading the already complex design, the busy upper features unique stitching across its brown and beige composition. A ribbed tongue rests beneath a collaborative thematic tag while supplementary Swooshes were moved from the heel to just above the main Swooshes. On the medial, the main Swoosh appears as a stitched outline. Its Air-infused sole unit goes for an all-white midsole while a translucent pink is joined by a clear hue at the rubber outsole to complete the look.
Currently, no release information for the Serena Williams Design Crew x Nike Air Max 90 Futura has been disclosed by Nike. Look for it to hit shelves in the coming months via the Swoosh and select retailers.
