Air Jordan 4 "Red Thunder" Strikes Hard in This Week's Best Footwear Drops

In 2021, sportswear brands across the board made major moves to consistently outdo themselves with the release of countless footwear collaborations, stunning GRs and more, and the new year is already looking bright in terms of what’s to come. We’re now in the second week of 2022, and the next several days are going to see a range of impressive new launches from imprints such as adidas, Nike, Clarks Originals and more, but before we touch on those, let’s first revisit all of the major sneaker headlines that erupted last week.

On the news front, the folks over at adidas has plenty of new compelling items to share including Bad Bunny’s Response CL and his next Forum Low colorway in “White,” Kerwin Frost’s next sneaker collab, the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Pure Oat” and the all-new Prada x adidas Forum Re-Nylon collection that will finally see a delivery this week.
Nike always tends to show out with some bangers every week, and it certainly didn’t disappoint as the forthcoming CPFM x Nike Dunk Low, Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low “Reverse Zebra” and the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft “General Purpose Shoe” were teased. A handful of grail-worthy makeups were also unveiled by the Jordan Brand side as we caught a closer look at the Air Jordan 1 Hi ‘85 “Georgetown,” the Air Jordan 4 “Zen Master,” the Air Jordan 6 “Mint Foam” and the Spring-ready Air Jordan 5 Low “Arctic Pink.”
Elsewhere in footwear, early images of the A-COLD-WALL* x ROA collaboration leaked, LaMelo Ball’s PUMA MB.01 “Buzz City” was uncovered and UNITED ARROWS revealed a bespoke Reebok Instapump Fury team-up.

Why You Should Cop: Nike Air Huarache colorways are mostly recognizable for their louder color arrangements, but the Swoosh is switching gears here for its newest “Off Noir” installment. Why You Should Cop: New Balance’s 550 only seems to be gaining more steam with time, and this newest “White/Grey” colorway is one that would fit perfectly into anyone’s wardrobe. Given its ultra-clean execution, it almost channels the same vibe as say the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Neutral Grey” but with a thicker build and more pronounced lifestyle approach. Why You Should Cop: Clarks Originals has been super active on the collaborations front in recent memory, and after linking up with Hender Scheme to reimagine the Desert Boot, It’s now tapping BEAMS for a Wallaroo team-up. It’s a tweaked variation of the classic Wallabee as it’s now without laces and features a higher cut. A caramel brown suede covers the entire upper and the initials “AH” are emblazoned on the lateral heels as these are crafted in collaboration with Akio Hasegawa.

Why You Should Cop: After dropping 200 pairs of its BAPE STA-inspired Reebok Club Cs in 2020, BAPE is reconnecting with the vector brand for a two-piece footwear collection to kick off the year. The brand has fashioned a multi-colored camo Instapump Fury and a Club C 85 colorway that is lined with contrast stitching. The former is furnished with BAPE heads on the pump buttons while the latter comes adorned with BAPE STA insignias on the tongues and heels as well as a star on the left shoe’s lateral wall.

Why You Should Cop: A bonafide staple in New Balance’s assemblage of lifestyle silhouettes, the 990v5 has intentions of further building out its arsenal of new colorways this year. These are somewhat similar to the brand’s signature grey colorway, only dialed slightly darker in appearance and the upper goes for more of a monochromatic look.
