While many luxury brands have hopped on the train to release their festive capsules inspired by the Year of the Tiger, Valentino‘s first acquaintance with the wild beast dates back to its haute couture Fall/Winter 1967 collection. In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the Italian Maison brings back the Valentino Tiger 1967 collection as a tribute to the Chinese heritage and a nod to its friendship with the country.

In the latest capsule, the storied tiger motif that became immortalized by German model Veruschka’s shoot with Franco Rubartelli for Vogue in 1967 makes a comeback in a series of contemporary ready-to-wear, including hoodies and shorts. Other standout pieces that see reinterpretations of the iconic pattern are the Garavani Roman Stud bags, bucket hats, and nylon boots, available in natural and bright colors. Rounding off the bold range is the new Garavani Locò bag in pink, which dons a compact body decorated with a double handle.

The Valentino Tiger 1967 collection is now available at Valentino boutiques throughout China and at select stores worldwide. Check out the full Lunar New Year capsule for men’s and women’s online.

In case you missed it, Gucci’s new collection celebrates the Year of the Tiger with flair.
