Kanye West’s adidas YEEZY 500 to Release in “Ash Grey”
A familiar earthy colorway joins the adidas YEEZY line’s fall release slate.

As Kanye West awaits the first week numbers for DONDA — which is on pace to have the biggest opening week of 2021 — he’s visiting art museums in Berlin and shepherding his YEEZY line with adidas, from which a new style was just leaked: the YEEZY 500 in “Ash Grey.” Though 2021 hasn’t been the busiest year for the 500, the “Ash Grey” reveal arrives shortly after a YEEZY 500 “Brown Clay” made its debut, indicating that we may see the YEEZY 500 receive a more prominent role in this fall’s YEEZY lineup.
Any West acolyte is sure to be familiar with this YEEZY 500’s design ethos, namely a tonal, earthy color scheme with the detail provided by divergent materials. adiPRENE midsoles supply the darkest grey shade to appear on the shoe, with the upper’s mesh base layer taking on a darker hue of its own. Light contrast is supplied by the upper’s shaggy suede and supple leather overlays, while the mudguard takes on a medium tone and hi-vis reflective piping runs around the eyestays and tongue to complete the look.
At the time of writing, the adidas YEEZY 500 “Ash Grey” has yet to be bequeathed with an official release date. However, it’s likely to roll out later this fall and will be priced at $200 USD.
