Nike Air Force 1 Low "Sports Specialties" Features Purple Corduroy Details
Inspired by old-school ’90s snapbacks.
Nike is expanding its commemorative “Sports Specialties” footwear collection with a new take on the Air Force 1 Low. Best known in the ’90s for its simple, clean and iconic script snapback hats — then a sportswear must-have, rocked by everyone from JAY-Z to Dr. Dre and Eazy-E — Sports Specialties was later acquired by Nike, who’s using its signature tag and bold materials on a footwear collection that also includes other Air Force 1s, Dunks and more.
This pair, however, boasts a material and color combo not seen on other “Sports Specialties” styles from Nike Sportswear. It’s based around a rich purple corduroy Swoosh and heel tab, the latter of which features an “Official Nike Basketball” graphic hit. Tongues present an OG Sports Specialties tag in purple and red, while the rest of the upper is composed of white leather. A clever “One Size Fits All” print is present on the insoles, while grape-colored midsoles and outsoles with white accents and contrast stitching round off the look.
Expect the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Sports Specialties” to release via the Nike webstore on September 10. Its MSRP has yet to be announced.
In other Swoosh news, the Nike Dunk High has appeared in a new “Toasty” makeup.
