Nike SB Expands its "Unbleached" Pack with the SB Dunk Low in "Lilac"
Featuring hand-dye-inspired detailing and a unique textile build.
Nike offers an Orange Label line of products through its Nike SB sub-brand — monthly collections of shoes and clothes available exclusively in skateshops. The September Orange Label offering? An “Unbleached” footwear pack, one piece of which is the SB Dunk Low “Lilac.”
As the “Unbleached” collection is inspired by hand-dyeing, this low-cut SB Dunk features slightly faded purple shades across its upper. On the textile midfoot, toebox and heel, the faint hue works itself into the textured detailing. On the suede mudguard, eyestays, collar flaps, heels and heel tabs it’s slightly richer. Swooshes, collars and puffy mesh tongues are done up in white, and the last of these pieces offers purple trim and an orange Swoosh on its tag.
A final hit of branded flair is provided by a Nike spellout on the heel tab. Zoom Air cushioning is loaded into the insole’s heel — directly under its Orange Label branding — for snappy, responsive on-board feel. Midsoles are mostly white, but offer purple splotches for a nod to the wabi-sabi nature of many hand-dyed products. White midsoles and gum outsoles complete the look.
The Nike SB “Unbleached” pack’s Nike SB Dunk Low “Lilac” will release at skateshops like The Berrics Canteen in September for $100 USD. It’ll be accompanied by fresh takes on the SB Dunk High, the SB Blazer Mid and the SB Blazer Low.
