Tokyo Luxury Hotel and Nissin Celebrate 50 Years With Cup Noodle Buffet
Menu selections were winners from a friendly cooking competition.
Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, the chain’s flagship hotel and first high-rise hotel in Japan is collaborating with Nissin to create a delicious fine dining experience centered around the world-famous Cup Noodle. This seemingly odd pairing was brought to life as the two Japanese icons happen to share the same birthday. Both Keio Plaza Hotel and Cup Noodle were founded in 1971, and have chosen to celebrate their 50th-anniversary with a light-hearted feast.
The menu selections in this all-you-can-eat buffet originated from a friendly internal cooking competition among Keio Hotel’s chefs and bartenders with Western, Chinese, and Japanese cuisines featured in this eclectic meal. Standout dishes from the buffet include the chilled shabu-shabu with spicy tonkotsu and green onion sauce, European-style cheese curry pot pie soup, chili tomato noodle mini-hamburgers, and clay pot fried noodles in spicy pork bone sauce. Dessert items include a mouthwatering chocolate mousse with miso cup noodles, and themed beverage items feature a fruity coconut liqueur-based cocktail served in a Curry Cup Noodle bowl.
The buffet will occur at Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo from July 1 to August 31 and is priced at 5800 yen (approximately $53 USD) for lunch and 7,800 yen (approximately $71 USD) for dinner, with a 50 percent discount for children between four to 12, and free for children under four.
