Nike LeBron 18 "La Cabra" Celebrates Diana Taurasi's Greatness

Nike is celebrating WNBA legend Diana Taurasi’s storied career with a special LeBron 18 makeup dubbed “La Cabra,” “the goat” in Spanish. From heel to toe, the design is a salute to Taurasi’s legacy, one that that nods to her professional accolades like championships and MVPs as well as her Italian and Argentinian heritage. LeBron James himself is an avowed Taurasi fan who recently took to Twitter to congratulate her on becoming the first WNBA player to reach 9,000 career points.
The main point of interest on Taurasi’s LeBron 18 is its heel detailing. The shoe’s translucent clip that provides lockdown and stability is completely covered in red text hits that nod to the Phoenix Mercury guard’s achievements, ranging from championships to individual accolades. This text even drops down onto the rear of the midsole — where it sits above a vibrant red Air Max unit — and is done up in black on the white collar and tonal black on the tongue.
Another signature detail appears on one the tongue’s baubles, namely a cheeky goat logo that replaces a standard LeBron graphic hit. The rest of the upper is constructed of durable black Battleknit, with a red Swoosh on the toe cap and contrast provided by cream laces and midsoles. This isn’t the first time Nike Basketball has saluted a WNBA star on an NBA player’s signature model either: 2019 saw Kyrie Irving‘s Kyrie 4 drop in a special “Keep Sue Fresh” makeup inspired by Sue Bird.
Diana Taurasi’s Nike LeBron 18 “La Cabra” is set to release on Nike SNKRS come July 2. Its MSRP is set at $200 USD.
