Bodega x New Balance 990v3 Is Restocking Globally
Second time lucky?
Boston-based retailer Bodega is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and marking this was its sell-out collaboration with New Balance on the 990v3 — now, however, the sneaker is set for a wider global release for those who missed out the first time around.
The 990v3 is arguably one of New Balance’s greatest 990 iterations, critically acclaimed for its shape, colorways, and comfort. All of this is encapsulated by Bodega which dressed the 990 in a variety of muted, drab tones that really lend themselves to the 990v3’s silhouette, with the majority of the shoe sporting an olive-brown make-up.
Khaki green mesh serves as the shoe’s base, while an overlaying myriad of overlapping panels in olive gives the 990v3 its distinctive design. A gray and silver “N” emblem on the lateral and medial mid-panels, alongside 990 branding on the rear quarter, New Balance’s moniker on the tongue, and a number of contrasting touches such as a blue sock liner and a silver heel tab give lots of definition to the sneaker.
On the heel, Bodega marks its 15th anniversary with 2006 embroidered on the left foot and 2021 on the right, while custom packaging has been included to tie this collaboration together.
For those who didn’t get to cop these the first time around, fear not, as New Balance’s website is slating a re-release of these 990v3s on July 1 at 10 a.m. EST. They will cost $219.99 USD.
