Balenciaga Partners With RuPaul for Merch Capsule and Playlist
The latest curator to join the label’s Apple Music series.
Balenciaga has announced that the next curator in its Apple Music series of playlists is RuPaul. For this collaboration, the titular presenter of RuPaul’s Drag Race has also worked with the Demna Gvasalia-led house to create a unisex line of merchandise celebrating the music-led partnership.
The merch capsule features caps, T-shirts and hoodies, all of which sport co-branded detailing, with the words “Balenciaga Music Limited Edition Merch” appearing above RuPaul’s autograph in a spray-stencil lettering.
Balenciaga’s work with Apple Music has been running since last year, when Gvasalia launched the “Hello, My Name Is Demna” playlist. Since then, the creative director has selected artists to curate their own playlist, explaining, “The Balenciaga x Apple Music playlists are some of my favorite music artists, each of whom I have personally selected.”
