Isaiah Rashad Announces New Album With Lead Single "Lay Wit Ya"
‘The House Is Burning’ drops June 2021.
Isaiah Rashad has finally and officially announced his return with the brand new single, “Lay Wit Ya.”
Featuring fellow Tennessee rapper and Quality Control Music‘s Duke Deuce, “Lay with Ya” turned out to be the exciting new release that Top Dawg Entertainment has been teasing. The pair also shared an accompanying music video for the single, which begins with Rashad driving up to a party with his love interest and her friends. He then links up with Deuce and they enjoy what looks to be a rager before previewing another new track at the end.
In a recent interview, Rashad confirmed that his upcoming album The House Is Burning — his first since 2016’s The Sun’s Tirade — is set to release this June 2021 after a long and tiring battle. The artist revealed to the FADER that after he finished a tour in 2017, he basically went broke, slept on a friend’s couch for months then completed rehab in 2019. He began to study new rappers and, with the help of his “rap coach” Kenny Beats, started the process of creating The House Is Burning. “I just wanted this sh*t to sound fun,” he said. “If I’m sad, people don’t need to be able to tell. And this is probably my most depressing album.”
