Olan Prenatt Reveals Salehe Bembury's Spunge x Vans Authentic Collaboration

Actor Olan Prenatt has taken to Instagram to tease the first collaborative product from Salehe Bembury‘s Spunge: a vibrant take on Vans‘ ever-popular Authentic silhouette. The first collaborative Spunge product, this co-created Authentic uses Bembury’s signature fingerprint motif for an all-over pattern that reaches from toebox to heel.
Its pattern is presented in a vivid blue and yellow color scheme, topped with blue laces, trimmed with a white midfoot tag and bolstered by a white midsole with a sporty blue foxing stripe. The outsole’s cannot be seen in Prenatt’s photo, but it likely features matching tones and Vans’ classic waffle mold. Further photos posted on the Spunge Instagram show the shoe’s cork insoles (another Bembury signature) and a special wavy design on its box.
Bembury founded Spunge as an outlet for his products and collaborative efforts after leaving his prior position as Vice President of Sneakers and Men’s Footwear at Versace in December 2020. Apart from his inaugural collaborative effort with Vans, the designer also has a second New Balance 2002R collaboration and a project with Crocs releasing in 2021.
At the time of writing, a release date and pricing information for the Spunge x Vans Authentic has yet to be revealed. However, if Bembury’s past drops are any indication we’ll see several more teasers, sneak peeks and detail shots of this new Vans collaboration over the next few months before it drops.
