CAYL and New Balance Link Up for an Outdoor-Ready CRV ZIP and CRV SLIDE Capsule
Marking the South Korean label’s inaugural footwear collaboration.

Following its team-up with New York City’s MTA and the UK’s Slam Jam, New Balance now has its eyes set on increasing its collaborative output with a fresh footwear collection with CAYL – a South Korea-based imprint that hones in on crafting outdoor-ready products. This marks the Asia brand’s first-ever footwear project and it includes duo of sandals entitled the CRV ZIP and the CRV SLIDE.
First up on the roster is the CRV ZIP which is essentially a modified variation of the CRV-COVE as it shrouds its Nifco lacing system with CAYL’s signature grid material — offering somewhat of a similar look to the Haven and Nike’s ACG Mountain Fly Low “Black/Anthracite”. This base is locked down with an easy-on-easy-off zip that runs down the throat and comes whipped up with a reflective strip on the heels. Its release sibling is more so designed for lounging around. Uppers of the sandal sport a similar gridlock pattern which are accompanied with a technical cord panel that’s skewed to the lateral side. Co-branded hits are also present near the ankles and along the forefoot in white.
If interested in copping, these will be releasing via CAYL on May 13.
