Jaden Smith and New Balance's Latest Vision Racer is Thinking Pink
And is made of ecologically conscious materials.
Jaden Smith and New Balance are staying busy, readying a new pink take on the popular Vision Racer to follow up last month’s “ReWorked” colorway. Bold in its signature hue and ecologically conscious in its material build, the latest Vision Racer puts the youngest Smith son’s eye for flamboyance and detail on full display.
Smith’s favorite New Balance silhouettes besides his own are the X-Racer and the 1700, so the Vision Racer combines details from both. Here, the mesh and suede upper is dressed in two flamboyant shades of pink, and adds reflective silver detailing on the lateral and medial midfoot alike for a pop of hi-vis style. Piping that’s stamped with a repeating black ((VISION)) hit runs across the entirety of the top half, while further branding arrives on the midfoot, heel and tongue tab. Down below, ultra-thick midsoles serve up blocky style and translucent outsoles with ((VISION)) and “Do You See It Yet?” hits round off the look. It’s also packaged with a set of black laces if the wearer desires extra contrast.
From a build standpoint, the Vision Racer includes everything from recycled polyester to insoles made partly of castor bean oil and midsoles constructed partially of reground EVA foam, all engineered to reduce, reuse and recycle, therefore cutting down on wasteful construction.
The Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer in pink is set to release via the New Balance webstore, the Foot Locker webstore and Foot Locker’s Greenhouse app come May 14. Its MSRP will be set at $150 USD.
