Marvel Reveals Synopsis for 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'
The epic sorcerer becomes “a central figure in the Avengers.”
Following the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios dropped the first trailer for Benedict Cumberbatch‘s next appearance in the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness just a week ago, and now the studio has finally released the upcoming film’s official synopsis.
Following on from the events of both WandaVision and No Way Home, the second Doctor Strange installment will see the epic sorcerer join forces with the Scarlet Witch and his old partner Wong to confront enemies converging from all across the multiverse. As a translated version of the Japanese synopsis reads:
“The door of the multiverse, full of mystery and madness, opens. Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called “the Multiverse.” To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange…”
For the Marvel fans out there, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
Elsewhere in entertainment, the Spider-Man: No Way Home cast says they knew about the film’s plans for years.
