Yohji Yamamoto Teams up With New Era For Reusable Masks
Bridging form and function.
The most recent face mask collaboration comes from Yohji Yamamoto and New Era. Both brands have united to create a functional and fashionable rendition to the much-needed mask accessory.
The mask comes in a black/gray colorway, featuring subtle three-dimensional drawings of skulls and roses. The featured pattern appears to resemble a texture similar to incense smoke. Similar to the fabrics used on New Era baseball caps, the mask is constructed with COOLERA, a sweat-absorbing and quick-drying material. The mask allows for ample breathing room as it holds a semi-three dimensional shape. To maximize comfort, the mask also comes with easily adjustable ear loops. A wire is incorporated along the top of the mask to ensure a proper fit at the bridge of the nose. The mask comes with three filters and with each replacement, the mask itself becomes reusable. The collaborative mask also works with commercially available replacement filters, allowing the mask to have a long product life. Instructions on how to wash or reuse the mask can be easily seen in the inner area of the mask. A New Era logo is embroidered at the bottom corner of the mask in and understated black.
The mask is currently priced at $44 USD and is available on New Era Cap. Purchases are limited to one mask per person.
