The Nike Air Force 1 "Valentine's Day" Was Made for Lovers
With hidden messages on its tongue, heart-shaped perforations on its toebox and more.

Love it or leave it, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner — and Nike has prepared for the impending festivities with a plethora of special Nike Sportswear sneaker styles, the latest of which to surface is an Air Force 1. Joining a single-heart equipped Air Force 1 that released in recent weeks and a freshly-revealed Air Max 90, this second seasonal AF1 from the Swoosh is full of love both literally and figuratively.
A mixture of white and red leathers plus pink suedes serves as the base, and no time is wasted in adding a healthy dose of Valentine’s varnish. The toebox replaces its standard circular perforations with heart-shaped holes, as does both the lateral and medial midfoot. Even the heel’s embroidered Nike Air graphic adds a small heart above the “i” in Air.
The key detail, however, is provided by the tongue tags. These pink and red fabric tags are secured by a single pink snap, which can be lifted to reveal a special message under each: the left shoe reads “True Love Since ‘82,” a nod to the year the AF1 debuted, and the right shoe offers a tonal “AF1 4Ever” graphic. White midsoles and pink outsoles round off the look.
If you’re looking to add a little extra love to your sneaker rotation, you’ll be able to do so on February 6 when the Air Force 1 “Valentine’s Day” releases on the Nike webstore and retailers like Asphalt Gold for $130 USD.
