At the end of last year, Swiss luxury watchmaker OMEGA unveiled a special edition Bond-themed Seamaster Diver 300M to celebrate, not only the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise since the arrival of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969 but also the 25th anniversary of OMEGA being the official watch brand for the super spy from 1995’s GoldenEye. Now, to further commemorate this momentous year, the company has created an even more luxurious take on the special edition, building it in solid platinum-gold.
Like its predecessor, the new version measures in at a robust 42mm, its casing made completely from a block of solid platinum-gold, with a plate crafted from the same material affixed to its side, engraved with the edition number. A unidirectional bezel made from the same precious metal along with a black ceramic insert then sits above the intricately patterned black enamel dial, featuring Bond’s signature spiraling gun barrel logo, along with the “007” gun logo at 7 o’clock, a Bond family coat of arms at 12 o’clock, and a hidden “50” in the luminous index of 10 o’clock as a nod to the 50th anniversary of the franchise. Finishing off the timepiece is both a black rubber strap and an alligator strap, all held inside a premium Globe-Trotter suitcase.
For those interested, OMEGA’s latest Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Numbered Edition Platinum-Gold will soon be available, retailing at $51,900 USD.
Elsewhere in watches, UNDONE has launched a SpaceX-inspired “Space Xplorer” watch.
