UFC 252 Channels Pop Smoke's "Shake the Room" in Latest Promo Spot
The Miocic v. Cormier trilogy concludes this weekend.
Just days before the historic Miocic v. Cormier trilogy UFC 252 Heavyweight match, ESPN has just released a new promo spot honoring the late artist Pop Smoke and his “Shake the Room” track featuring Quavo.
As ESPN puts it, “When the event is as big as this, a Heavyweight Title fight, the biggest trilogy in Heavyweight history, you need a heavy track. That’s what ‘Shake The Room’ is, an announcement of what’s about to happen. The music hits heavy, just like Miocic and Cormier will. We didn’t find a track for the footage, we found footage for the track. It just spoke to the energy of the fight.”
This weekend will prove to be a momentous part of MMA history as not only have both fighters hinted at retirement, but both have well-celebrated careers in the sport: Stipe Miocic has defended his title three consecutive times, whereas Daniel Cormier has only lost to two fighters in his 11 years as a professional MMA fighter. This weekend will also see Sean O’Malley test himself again in the Bantamweight division as he faces off against Merlon “Chito” Vera. Will O’Malley keep the “Sugar Show” going for a 13-0 record? Stay tuned as we’ll have all the updates after UFC 252.
