Drake and Lil Durk Overcome Struggles and Celebrate Success on "Laugh Now Cry Later"
With Kevin Durant and OBJ making guest appearances in the visual.
Drake has enlisted Lil Durk for his newest cut, “Laugh Now Cry Later.”
The accompanying music video sees the two at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, training for a variety of sports that the footwear giant supports. Drake and Durk are joined by a number of star athletes including Kevin Durant and OBJ as they rap about overcoming the struggle and celebrating their success. “And I never been embraced/And the moneys hard to make/So I bet they on they face right,” they narrate. There’s also a comedic tinge to the visual as the OVO head’s emotional scene is disrupted and he responds in a shaky voice, “It’s been a long fight and I just had to have a warrior’s spirit.”
“Laugh Now Cry Later” arrives shortly after OVO engineer Noel Cadastre revealed that Drizzy’s upcoming album is “90%” finished. “…but y’all gonna have to wait on that last 10%,” Cadastre added. Drake’s upcoming album is reportedly titled Certified Lover Boy and is set to release later this year following his mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes. The rapper recently reunited with DJ Khaled for the back-to-back singles “POPSTAR” and “GREECE,” both of which are set to appear on the producer’s forthcoming record KHALED KHALED.
