After announcing the revival of its A-ZX pack earlier in the month, adidas Originals is continuing to unveil the letters of the mysterious periodic table that accompanied it. The latest letter? N, which is short for “Nature” and represents a collaborative ZX 5000 created with assistance from the National Park Foundation.

Rugged in build, colorful in palette and inspired by Joshua Tree, these all-terrain ZX 5000s are constructed of durable purple Cordura fabric that’s overlaid with tan nubuck. Further embellishment is provided by bright orange Three Stripe graphics, yellow laces and an extra-large multicolor tongue patch. Sizable heel tabs with National Park Foundation hits and a rugged orange strap with a snap on the medial side provide a nod to climbing and hiking gear.

This combination of bright colors and technical details draw directly from Joshua Tree’s expansive landscape, the rich hues of its sunsets and its trademark monzogranite boulders. All together, the design is a love letter to the beauty of nature — one that serves as a gentle reminder to the wearer that preserving our natural world is important.

The National Park Foundation x adidas ZX 5000 will release via the adidas webstore on August 21, and is priced at $130 USD. More A-ZX drops will follow in the coming weeks.

Elsewhere in the world of collaborative footwear, Medicom Toy has revealed the release date for its latest Nike SB Dunk Low.
