size? and adidas Originals Ready BC Trainer "Summer Holidays" Collection
Inspired by the Meran and Ibiza, two ’70s adidas silhouettes named after vacation hotspots.
When size? and adidas Originals get together you know it’s going to be a deep dive into the Trefoil’s archives, and the latest project from the two longtime partners is a two-shoe BC Trainer collection dubbed “Summer Holidays.” Inspired by adidas‘s Meran and Ibiza — two ’70s silhouettes that have yet to see a retro release — both of these supple, striking styles offer rich colors and niche inspiration that’s simultaneously drawn from old-school sneakers and vacation hotspots.
First up is a two-tone green style inspired by the Meran, a shoe that takes its nom de guerre from an alpine town in Italy’s South Tyrol region. Its original green suede returns on the upper, and is contrasted by dark olive green on the midfoot’s Three Stripe graphic, the leather heel piece and the laces.
Next is an elegant blue pair that draws from the Ibiza, another ’70s sneaker named after a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea. Rich blue suede bases give way to dark navy Three Stripe graphics, heel pieces and laces. Both pairs are rounded off by gold foil midfoot stamps, tonal tongue tags and black rubber midsoles.
