A First Trailer for ‘Lord of the Rings: Gollum’ Emerges
The upcoming stealth game is due for release next year.
The first teaser trailer has been released for Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a stealth action game set in the Lord of the Rings universe, which was announced last year.
The trailer shows Gollum crawling through the caverns of Mordor before emerging onto a rocky opening to see Mount Doom in the opening. Though early reports have confirmed that the game will follow a brand-new narrative, the trailer suggests that it will be set during the same time period as the original LotR books.
IGN reports that the game will be a ‘Prince of Persia-like stealth action’ title, that will mix “stealth with vertical climbing parkour.” Like many recent titles – most recently the PS4 release Ghost of Tsushima – the game will emphasize non-combat options, forcing the player to rely on cunning and misdirection to progress.
The games’ developers have also confirmed that familiar characters from the stories will reappear in the, with some available as “allies” that the player will be able to play alongside.
So far, the game has been confirmed for PC, Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. Though the game has been slated for a 2021 launch, no release date has as yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for updates.
Among the other gaming trailers dropped over the weekend is DC’s upcoming Suicide Squad release.
