Concepts and adidas Originals Couple on Recovery Blanket-Inspired ZX 9000
C stands for Concepts in the latest installment of the A-ZX Series.
Boston-based imprint Concepts and adidas Originals are continuing the Three Stripes’ recently-announced A-ZX Series with a collaborative take on the ZX 9000.
For their ZX 9000, Concepts and adidas Originals drew influence from the mylar recovery blankets used to keep runners warm after they complete the famously challenging Boston marathon. As a result, the sneaker’s entire upper sports a highly-reflective metallic silver leather makeover, which is offset by a tricolored selection of stripes on the mid-panel.
Additional components include translucent TPU overlays on the upper, a navy blue heel cage and a matching eye stay, as well as speckled laces that are finished with “A-ZX Series” and “Concepts” branding. Elsewhere, the duo’s ZX 9000 presents a white Torsion-equipped sole unit complete with a tri-color effect, dual-branded tongue tags, and a touch of light gray suede on the vamp and toe.
Rounding out the occasion is a special-edition white box, which links back to adidas Originals’ A-ZX Series. The Concepts x adidas Originals ZX 9000 is set to release on September 6 at Concepts stores and on its website, and will later release on September 12 via adidas’ website and stores. Pricing is set at $140 USD.
In other news, Sean Wotherspoon’s adidas SUPEREARTH Superstar is finally releasing this week.
