Kali Uchis and Rico Nasty Come Together for Bilingual Single 'Aquí Yo Mando'
From Uchis’ forthcoming second studio album.
Grammy-nominated artist Kali Uchis taps Rico Nasty for her new bombastic bilingual single “Aquí Yo Mando.” The track utilizes heavy 808s, sharp hi-hats, and forceful lyrics, stating “You do everything that I say,” in Spanish before saying “If you’re with me, only I call the shots.” Rico Nasty even drops a few Spanish lines while delivering bars like “They can’t do it like me (So nasty), no, they can’t do it like me/bae I know I ride that D, same way I did this beat.”
“Aquí Yo Mando” and its trap-inspired beat was co-produced by reggaeton hit-maker Tainy alongside Albert Hype, Jon Leone, and Rvnes. The track was previously teased online alongside a message saying “¡mores! Aug 05 les traigo un regalito”, roughly translating to “August 5 I bring you a gift.” The song is from Uchis’ forthcoming second studio album with Universal Music Group, which will serve as her first Spanish language project.
The track follows several Uchis tracks, such as “i need peace (BUT I WANT WAR)” and her recently released EP To Feel Alive, a four-track EP recorded during quarantine. “Aqui Yo Mando” marks Uchis’ first release since she dropped her To Feel Alive EP earlier this April.
Nasty on the other hand debuted several singles this year, including “Lightning,” “Popstar,” and “Dirty.”
