Kali Uchis Drops Dreamy New Lyric Video for "i want war (BUT I NEED PEACE)"
A cut off the artist’s recent EP ‘To Feel Alive.’
Kali Uchis has dropped brand new visuals for the track “i want war (BUT I NEED PEACE).” The song is the third track off the artist’s recently released EP To Feel Alive, a precursor to Uchis’ upcoming full-length album.
Running at close to two minutes and a half, the track features a slow ethereal groove that enlivens Uchis’ melancholic vocal delivery and unique personality. The song starts off with mostly synth chords, lightly sprinkled with some fluttering piano notes and smooth vocal harmonies. But the song picks up soon after the intro verse with muffled drums that set a driving syncopated rhythm to the song. The track is laced with some expressive lyrics, too, like with the line “Hope you pin me to the wall like a painting” or “Used up your chances, held my heart for ransom,” but ultimately it’s her eloquent delivery that breathes life to each word of the song. Accompanying the track, the lyric video is set against a dark, hazy galactical background with a lo-fi vintage look, apt visuals that complement the song’s dreamy, nocturnal sound.
