It's All Fun and Games Until Zara and PlayStation Drop a Sneaker
Game … on?!

In what’s undeniably the most unexpected “collaboration” of July, Sony has teamed up with fast fashion retailer Zara for a PlayStation-themed kids sneaker. In years past, the Japanese tech giants have joined forces with Nike for everything from legendary Air Force 1s to desirable silhouettes from Paul George‘s signature line, but this pint-sized footwear option looks to a vastly divergent market.
Simple poly uppers are dressed in grey with black trim, a nod to the PlayStation 1. More overt inspiration is present both on and around the collar area: the tongue features a full-color PlayStation graphic and heels show recognizable PS1 “Power” buttons. Heel and tongue tabs alike are done up in black, and equipped with PlayStation text graphics. Lastly, laces are replaced by an elastic band that stretches across the top of the foot and is stamped with a signature triangle, circle, X and square combo, just like a PlayStation controller’s face buttons. A heel “air” bubble provides cushioning.
As this PlayStation x Zara sneaker is indeed a children’s style, the largest size it runs up to is a US 7. However, if you’re looking to secure a pair you can snag one on the Zara webstore now for $50 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of collaborations, Star Wars and adidas Originals have teamed up for a stormtrooper-inspired NMD R1.
