Romany Malco's 'Tijuana Jackson: Purpose Over Prison' Features An Ex-Con Becoming a Life Coach
Starring Malco alongside Regina Hall.
Romany Malco will star and direct a new comedy film based on his YouTube character Tijuana Jackson, an ex-con and self-proclaimed motivational speaker. The trailer above focuses on Jackson as he gets released from prison and sets out on his journey to become a famous Life Coach.
However, he gets so caught up in chasing his dreams he violates his parole in the process. Now that he’s facing additional jail time, Jackson must find a balance between achieving his dreams by serving his community or else he’ll go away for good.
According to Deadline, Malco will team with Cranked Up Films to produce this independent film. “We had to make this movie independently because no one in their right mind would get behind such an outrageously controversial character, and that says a lot about Cranked Up.” Malco explains: “My goal with Tijuana Jackson is to redefine success as we know it and teach others that monetary gain, social status and the acquisition of THINGS mean nothing without purpose.”
Tijuana Jackson: Purpose Over Prison also stars Regina Hall (Girls Trip, Little), Tami Roman (Basketball Wives), and is expected to arrive OnDemand July 31. Head to the official Tijuana Jackson website for more information on where and when to watch.
